Pan is one of the main characters of the Heroic War and the Battle Against
Karla. He along with his friends were able to stop Wagners dreams
of resurecting the evil goddess Kardis and he also has served King Kashue
on many different missions with his companion Deidrit. Pan's main
goals are to live up to the memories he has of his father, a former holy
knight of Valis, and to save his friend Woodchuck from Karla the Grey Witch,
who has taken over his body.

Eto is an old friend of Pan who joins forces with him on his quest to
find out the source of discontent in the land of Lodoss. After the
Heroic War and the death of King Faun of Valice, Eto is chosen by the holy
council of Faris to become the acting King of Valice. He since settled
down and it has been rumoured that he will marry Princes Fianna in the
future.

While on her way home from studying the forest wildes, Deidrit ran into
Pan and from then on her life was changed. She became involved in
Pan's quest and has since then become his traveling companion. It
has been rumored that their meeting was set up by the High Elves Council
of Elders and that she stays with Pan in order to keep tabs on what's going
on in Lodoss for the Council.

Gim crossed paths with Pan while on his quest to find the daughter of
his friend Nice. Later on Gim finds out that Nice's daughter Radia
was taken over by the evil witch Karla and sacrificed his life in order
to save her.

Slayne was a student of the magic schools of Alan and became a fine
sorcerer. He was asked by his friend Gim to help him find Radia and
has also helped Pan in the past on his many adventures.

Woodchuck was found in prison by Pan and his friends. Sensing
that there was profit to be made if he hung out with Pan long enough he
decided to join Pan's group. His search for fortune ended in tragedy
when he was taken over by the evil witch Karla.

Karla is the last surviving Sorcerer from the ancient kingdom that once
ruled over the entire continet of Lodoss, Kastruel. They dominated
Lodoss with their powerful magics, dragon warriors, and floating fortresses.
After years of domination a catastrophy brought this ancient kingdom down
into ruin, forever becoming a legend. Since then Karla has survived
by transfering her conciousness from one body to the next through the ages.
She currently inhabits the body of Woodchuck.

Wart was one of the legendary Six Heroes who had brought an end to the Demonic Invasion many years ago. Since then he has moved into the Eternal Dungeon in which the Demonic Gateway had been opened in order to watch over it and keep it closed. He has also helped Lodoss in times of need and even assisted Pan during the Heroic War and his fight against Karla.

Orson is a berserker inhabitted by the spirit of Huyirii. He travels
Lodoss as a mercenary with his partner Sharis.
| Cecil
Sorcerer Human Male 21 years old ST 7

Cecil is a hot headed sorcerer who graduated from the magic schools
of Alania and actually studied under Slayne. He will always rise
to the challenge of another magician. He also becomes enraged whenever
he is mistaken for a woman. He helped defend the village of Zakson in the
Heroic War.

Scout Gurasuranna Male 25 years old ST 10

Maru is a Gurasuranna from the continent of Alecrust. He originally
lived a peaceful existance but abandoned all that for the excitement of
travel and adventure. He enjoys many songs and sings as often as
possible. His favorite song is the Ballad of the Ring and in battle
he will sing the Song of Surrender to his enemies in order to convince
them into giving up.

Fuso became a thief on the streets of Raiden. He is know as the
"Shadow" in the underworld of Raiden and also leads the local guild from
a secret back room in the Marine Dragon Restaurant.

Little is known about Sharis's background although she claims to be
a graduate of the Military Academy of Cannon. She has since left
and gone off to work as a mercenary which brought her into contact with
Pan during his quest. She has since then had a crush on Pan and has
done all she can to be near him.

Priest (Mairii) Human Female 25 years old ST 16
Weapon: War Hammer

Shayari is a follower of Mairii the God of war. She wanders Lodoss
spreading the teachings of Mairii and looking for an opportunity to improve
her skill as a warrior. She is always looking for a group to travel
with and is intended to be an NPC in order to round out a party.
| Kashue

Much is unknown about King Kashue before he united the desert tribes
and
formed the Kingdom of Flame. He appeared as a mercenary soldier and
worked his way up to a command position before he was able to take over
the tribe. It is speculated that he is the missing third prince of
Cannon.

Ashram is believed to be from a noble family of Alania that had been
exiled due to political reasons. They fled to Marmo and settled down
in Dark Town. As Ashram was growing up he admired Emperor Beld and
did all he could to live up to his hero. He eventually joined the
Marmo Military and rose up through the ranks until he became the Commander
of the Marmo Army. After the Heroic War and the death of Emperor
Beld he was named as the new Emperor by the Assembly of Nobles.

| Spark

Spark is a knight who is in the service of King Kashue of Flame.
Spark is hot blooded and overconfident and usually ends up as a rival to
any other fighters in the party. He is from a family of desert tribesman.
In the new Heroic Knight Quest manga series/anime he is ordered by King
Kashue to defend the Ancient Artifacts and protect the young Priestes Nice
(daughter to Radia?). To do this he forms a group of adventurers
and tries to foil Bagunards attempt to yet again raise the evil godess
Kardis from her slumber and destroy Lodoss.

Gyarak has trained to be a warrior since he was a little boy.
Since leaving home he has become a wandering mercenary. Gyarak is
more then happy to join in on any fight or adventure in order to hone his
warrior skills. He was on his way home when he ran into Spark and
decided to join in on his quest to stop Bagunard.

Aldus was born with a talent for magic. He has trained in the
magic schools of Alania in order to gain skill with his talent. He
left school in order to find a teacher who would help him train to higher
levels of skill. On his search he met Spark and joined him on his
quest.

Grievas is a very trustworthy and honorable and fighter who will usually
joke about how he would like to stop fighting in the middle of combat.
He joins Spark on his quest.

Leaf travels in search of her human mother. She is defeated in
an intrigue by a rival and joins Spark on his quest.
| Raina (Liner)

I have very little information on Raina except for what I've seen in
the Heroic Knight Quest manga. She joins Spark in order to find her
fortune during his adventuring. Along the way her old boyfriend Randy
gets killed when the dark elves plant some kind of enchanted vine in him
that eventually incorporates his body and grows at a phenomenol rate to
engulf the entire city of Blade in the kingdom of Flame. After that
she nearly gets killed by dark elves trying to save young Nice from being
kidnapped by an evil dark elf.

I got this information from the compendium but I'm not sure how accurate it is since young Nice is seen in the latest series along with Spark, Pan, and the rest of the gang. If my information is accurate then everything that takes place during the Heroic knight Quest is 15 years after the War of Heroes in which King faun of Valice and Emperor Beld of Marmo died.
Nice is the daughter of Radia and Slayne. She has been abducted
by Bagunardo so that he may use her sacrifice to awaken the goddess Kardis
and destroy the world. Only Spark and his group of brave adventurers
have any chance of stopping him.

Bagunardo is the main villian in many of the Lodoss Wars stories.
He originally started out in Alania. In a bid for power he tried
taking over one of the magic schools but was thwarted. The leaders
of the school cast a spell on him that would cause him pain anytime he
tried to cast any magic. This spell pushed him over the edge and
eventually he was able to overcome it. After that he managed to get
his revenge on those responsible for casting the spell and burn down the
school as well. Since then he has gone over to Marmo and plots the
return of Kardis.

Naldia is a member of one of the desert tribes of the Flame Kingdom.
She is pretty self sefficient and wanders alone most of the time.
I think she got involved in Azumo's plot to free the Efrit and helped Radia
and Deidirt foil his plans.

Marsh is a warrior from one of the desert tribes of the Flame Kingdom.
He has traveled around quite a bit and run into Pan on several occasions.
He will usually get along with Pan for a while but after being together
for a while they will begin to quarel due to differences of opinion.

a shortsword with both hands.

Azumo is the priest of one of the desert tribes in the Flame Kingdom. In a scheme to exact revenge on King Kashue and gain power for himself, Azumo released the Efrit from his ancient prison hidden in the desert. Radia and Dedrit were able to seal the Efrit away with thier combined effort. Since then Azumo has been looking for a way to get revenge on these two women and release the Efrit so that it may do his bidding.

Daugher of a black market merchant of Raiden, Odeia decided to run away
from home at the age of 18 after her father told her of the arranged mariage
he had brokered for her.

Dale is a 21 year old half-elf from the Forest of Mirrors who had been
expelled from magic school.
| Mireus |
Mireus was born a natural fighter and at the age of 16 his is very skilled with the sword. He has a scar on his face that reminds him of a mistake he had made.
